Privacy policy
Version 1.0 — in force since
Contents
This page is an English courtesy translation. The French version is the legally binding text.
This policy describes how Gamer Journey handles personal data in connection with the gamer-journey.fr website and the mobile games it publishes. It is written under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and French law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended.
1. In short
Our games collect no personal data. They connect to no server, create no account, embed no ad network or analytics tool, and read no identifier from your device.
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. It contains no forms. No font and no resource is loaded from a third-party server.
The only personal data that may be processed are our host's technical logs and, if you choose to write to us, the contents of your email.
2. Data controller
Sauvan William, sole trader, trading as “Gamer Journey”18 chemin de la Barque, 34150 Gignac, France
Email: contact@gamer-journey.fr
Given the nature and scale of the processing, appointing a data protection officer is not required under article 37 GDPR. Your requests are handled directly at the address above.
3. The mobile games
This section covers Residium: Space Invasion and any game later published under the Gamer Journey name, unless the listing for that game says otherwise.
No collection
Our apps:
- open no network connection and do not request the Internet permission;
- contain no third-party SDK (advertising, analytics, social, crash reporting);
- read no identifier — no advertising ID, no serial number, no MAC address, no IMEI;
- access no contacts, no files, no location, no camera and no microphone;
- require no account and offer no third-party sign-in.
Data kept on your device
The game writes your progress and settings to a single local file inside the app's private storage. That file holds gameplay information only: levels reached, skill points, sound and display options, best scores.
It never leaves your device, is not readable by any other app, and is sent nowhere. Under the GDPR this is not processing of personal data by Gamer Journey, since we never have access to it.
What Google measures on its side
Installing an app from the Google Play Store triggers processing by Google, independently of us (app verification, install statistics, possible system backup). That processing is covered by Google's privacy policy, not this one.
4. The gamer-journey.fr website
Cookies and trackers
The site is fully static. It sets no cookies and uses no local storage, no pixel, no fingerprinting and no audience measurement. No font, image or script is loaded from a third-party domain.
No consent banner is shown, because there is nothing to consent to.
Server logs
Like any web server, the one hosting this site automatically records connection logs, strictly for technical and security purposes.
| Data | IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, response code, browser type (user agent), referring page where applicable. |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Keeping the site running and secure, detecting and fixing incidents, preventing abuse. |
| Legal basis | The publisher's legitimate interest in an available and secure service (article 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
| Retention | Six months at most, then automatic deletion. |
| Recipient | OVH SAS, the host, acting as processor. Servers located in the European Union. |
These logs are not cross-referenced with other sources, not used to build a profile, and not passed to third parties, save on a valid judicial order.
5. Buying a game on Google Play
Our games are sold for a single price, with no advertising and no in-app purchase. The transaction is carried out entirely by Google: we never receive your name, your address or your payment details.
For that transaction, Google Commerce Limited / Google Ireland Limited acts as a separate controller. See the Google Payments terms and Google's privacy policy.
As publisher, we have access to the Google Play Console, which shows us:
- aggregated, anonymous statistics (install counts, countries, Android versions, consolidated revenue) — from which no individual can be identified;
- public reviews left on the game's listing, with the pen name and, where applicable, the photo their author chose to make public. If we reply, the reply is public. You can edit or delete your review at any time from the Google Play app.
6. If you write to us
| Data | Your email address, the contents of your message and any attachments. |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Answering your question, handling a bug report or a request to exercise your rights. |
| Legal basis | Legitimate interest in replying to correspondents (article 6(1)(f)); legal obligation for GDPR requests (article 6(1)(c)). |
| Retention | Three years from the last exchange. Rights requests are kept five years as evidence that they were handled. |
Please do not send us special category data under article 9 GDPR (health, opinions, sexual orientation and so on): we have no use for it.
7. Who receives your data
Your data is never sold, rented or traded. It is disclosed only to:
- OVH SAS (France) — website and mailbox hosting, as a processor bound by an article 28 GDPR agreement;
- Google — for distribution and sales on Google Play, as a separate controller;
- where applicable, judicial or administrative authorities, on a valid order.
No automated decision-making and no profiling within the meaning of article 22 GDPR takes place.
8. Transfers outside the European Union
Data relating to the website and the mailbox is hosted in the European Union and does not leave it.
Processing carried out by Google for the Play Store may involve transfers to the United States, framed by Google through the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and its EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification. Those transfers are Google's responsibility.
9. Retention periods
| Data | Period |
|---|---|
| Website connection logs | 6 months |
| Emails exchanged | 3 years after the last contact |
| Rights requests | 5 years (evidence of handling) |
| Game save on your device | Until you uninstall — entirely under your control |
| Game data held by us | None: we hold none |
10. Data deletion
Because our games transmit nothing, there is no account to delete and no game data on our servers. Everything is on your device, and you can erase it yourself without asking us:
- Wipe progress without uninstalling — open Settings → Apps → pick the game → Storage → Clear data. The game restarts from scratch.
- Delete everything — uninstall the app. Android then removes its entire private storage, save file included.
- Android backup — if your Google account's automatic backup is enabled at system level, a copy may remain in your Google Drive space. Remove it from drive.google.com → Storage → Backups, or from your phone's backup settings.
To have an email you sent us deleted, or a Google Play review we replied to, write to contact@gamer-journey.fr.
11. Your rights
Under the conditions set by the GDPR, you have the following rights over data about you that we actually process:
- Access (article 15) — confirmation that data about you is processed, and a copy of it.
- Rectification (article 16) — correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure (article 17) — deletion of your data.
- Restriction (article 18) — temporary freezing of a processing activity.
- Objection (article 21) — objection, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Portability (article 20) — the data you provided, in a structured format, where processing is based on consent or a contract.
- Post-mortem instructions — how your data is handled after your death (article 85 of the French Data Protection Act).
To exercise these rights, write to contact@gamer-journey.fr. You will get a reply within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests — you would be told if so. Proof of identity will only be asked for if there is reasonable doubt about who is making the request.
If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority:
Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL)3 place de Fontenoy — TSA 80715 — 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France
www.cnil.fr
If you live in another EU country, you may equally lodge a complaint with your own national supervisory authority.
12. Children
Our games target a general audience and contain no adult content. Because they collect nothing, they present no particular risk to minors and require no parental consent to be gathered.
Purchasing on Google Play remains subject to Google's rules and to any parental controls set on the device.
13. Security
The site is served over HTTPS only (TLS encryption). Access to the mailbox and to the publishing console is protected by two-factor authentication. Hosting security updates are applied by OVH.
Should a data breach be likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, you would be informed as provided by article 34 GDPR.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may change, notably when a new game is released. Any substantial change — in particular the introduction of any data collection at all — will be flagged on this page and, where relevant, inside the game concerned, before it takes effect.
The version number and date are shown at the top of the page. Earlier versions can be requested at contact@gamer-journey.fr.
